We're thrilled to share some exciting updates with the parents, students, and customers of Aureus Academy!

In our commitment to continuously enhance your experience, we’ll be upgrading our billing system and migrating all centres from October 2024 through March 2025. While our current system has served us well for over five years, we’re focused on the future. Our upcoming plans include opening Aureus Academy centres internationally and launching the new Aureus Interactive experience in 2025. To achieve these milestones, we’re adopting a more advanced system tailored to the complexities of global expansion.

After carefully evaluating options, Aureus Group has chosen Stripe as our new billing solution, recently recognized by Gartner as a leader in payment and billing services. We’re proud to be Stripe’s first customer in the APAC region to implement their new enterprise contract structure!

So, what does this mean for you? There won’t be major changes to your experience, but here are a few key updates highlighted below:

Same Day Billing and Invoicing

Under our current billing solution, invoices at Aureus Academy are generated on the 1st of the month and charged on the 3rd to the card on file. With our new Aureus x Stripe system, invoices will continue to be generated on the 1st, but charges will now be processed shortly after, around 8:00 am, to the card on file.

Standardized Communications

In terms of invoice format, we have simplified our packages. Previously, customers were charged based on specific instruments, such as piano, guitar, violin, or drums, and for the duration of each lesson. For example, a typical invoice might list “Piano 4 x 45-min lessons.” Moving forward, all instruments will be categorized as “Music Lessons” since they are charged at the same rate. So, instead of specifying each instrument, customers will now see “Music Lesson 45 min” with a corresponding quantity of lessons on their invoice.

Invoices Localised To Your Centre.

Moreover, the billing name on the invoices will change with the migration to Stripe Billing. In the past, invoices were generated under “Aureus Group Pte Ltd.” With the new system, invoices will now be issued by the respective center, such as “Aureus (Bedok Mall) Pte Ltd.”

For old invoices, rest assured that all previous invoices will remain accessible through the Aureus Parent App. Furthermore, with the integration of the Stripe Portal, managing invoices will be even easier.

Lastly, there are no changes to your payment details. Your information is securely stored in Stripe and will continue to remain as is.

Note: If you’ve made advanced payments, there will be no changes until your next billing cycle. For instance, if you joined our Aureus Loyalty Programme (ALP) for 2024, your next billing cycle begins in January 2025, and the changes mentioned above will only take effect after your ALP term ends.

Why is Aureus changing the billing system for customers?

Our vision for the coming years includes expanding overseas and launching Aureus Interactive—a new, immersive music learning experience. To achieve these goals, we need a more sophisticated billing system capable of handling the complexities of a global business.

What about my payment method on file with Aureus Academy? Will that be migrated?

Your billing details are already securely stored with Stripe, so there’s no need to migrate sensitive data like credit card information. We’re simply moving our invoicing into Stripe to make the process even more secure and seamless.

Why is my invoice showing “Music Lesson” when my child is signed up for Piano Lessons?

To simplify our billing process, we’re consolidating charges under “Music Lessons” since all instruments are billed at the same rate. This change will make managing billing easier for both customers and our team. For example, if your child is enrolled in 4 x 45-minute piano lessons, your invoice will show “4 x 45-min Music Lessons.”

Note: If you have multiple enrollments with the same duration, they will be summed up. For instance, if you have three children in 30-minute packages, your invoice will reflect 12 x 30-min Music Lessons.*

Will I be able to access invoices from before the switch?

Absolutely! All your previous invoices will remain accessible through the Aureus Parent App, or you can request them from the front desk.

What if I prepaid my lesson fees at Aureus Academy?

For customers enrolled in our Aureus Loyalty Programme (ALP) and who prepaid their lesson fees, these changes will only take effect in your next billing cycle. You’ll have the option to renew your ALP later this year, so stay tuned for updates!

What if I notice an issue with my invoice or payment for the monthly fees at Aureus Academy?

In the unlikely event of an issue with your invoice or payment amount, please reach out to your center’s team. They will investigate the problem and guide you through the next steps. If there’s a technical issue, our center team will work with our developers to resolve it promptly.

Can I request my invoice be generated in advance so I can claim points with the mall?

Currently, our new Stripe Billing system does not allow for ad-hoc invoice generation. However, we’re planning to bring this feature back once the migration is complete.
