Students get allocated to ensemble groups based on playing level. The aim of these sessions is to provide students a platform to collaborate with their peers on playing chamber music together. This will include groups like string groups, guitar quartets, bands and more!
One of the main features of our 2017 Winter Camp will include a large choir component! This is a good opportunity for students to learn the basics of singing and voice projection. Singing is an important part of one’s musical progress even if the student is learning another instrument, as it benefits one’s musicality with regards to expression. Students will be divided into smaller sections based on skill, culminating in a group performance at the end.
Our classic favourite, An-Instrument-A-Day is back by popular demand! Attending the Instrument-a-day class is certainly a great way to bask in the wonderful world of music! Rated as one of the most popular activities in Aureus, this part of the programme allows each student to select a musical instrument and get a hands-on experience on the basics of how to properly hold and play it. All-time favourites such as Violin, Cello, Guitar, Ukulele, Drums and Trumpet would be available!
This is a theory-based activity where students will be introduced to various composers and musical periods in a fun and engaging session!
Other components of our music camp include performing sessions, studio classes, as well as solo instrumental coaching.
